What length should a dog leash be?

The primary purpose of a dog leash is to keep your pup safe and under your control. The size, temperament, level of training and situation will determine the best leash length for your pup. We recommend a 4’, 5’ or 6’ leash for everyday walking. Learn more about how to choose the right leash for your dog

What products do you recommend for new puppies or new dogs to a household?

We recommend the RuffGrip lightweight or Premium leash, and any of our grab tabs. The shortstops on the leash are invaluable as you teach your new pup leash manners and how to ‘heel’ or stay ‘right here’. Grab tabs are exceptional for teaching a dog how to accept a leash and to give you an easy way to grab your pup when they are off leash (inside and outside the house). With no handle, there is nothing for the dog to get caught on.

What is the best way to clean my new RuffGrip Product?

We recommend hand washing with warm water and a mild dish detergent, and then air drying. Please do not bleach, dry clean or machine wash.

The handle on my new Premium leash is not as supple as I expected.

Your new RuffGrip Premium leash handle will wear in as you use it, just like your favorite leather shoes.

Have you done any testing on RuffGrip leashes?

We have worked with certified test labs in the US and have verified our RuffGrip material exceeds 1,000 lb breaking strength, our L hooks greater than 900 lbs, and our M hooks greater than 400 lbs. Our leashes pass standard salt and corrosion tests. Abrasion wear tests outperformed standard nylon, showing no wear after 15,000 cycles.

What should I do if I find the same item has a different price?

    Despite our best efforts, a small number of items in our store may be mis-priced. If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will honor the stated price for a one time order.

      Can I change an order before it ships?

        To get your items to you as soon as possible, orders enter our shipping process very quickly. Once an order is in the shipping process, it cannot be modified. If you want to change, cancel or modify your order, please contact us within 30 minutes of placing your order.

          Can I track my order?

          • We'll email you a tracking number when your order ships.
          • If you registered on our site before placing your order, you can view orders via your account.

          Does my purchase help you make donations?

          Through our Ruff to Rescue program, we donate 10% of our profits to animals in need as in-kind and cash donations.
